Imagine this: you are out by yourself, taking pictures like you normally do. You see a refinery that would make for an awesome long exposure shot and so you set up your tripod, attach your wide-angle lens, snap a few photos and before long… it happens. The red and blue lights flash and the very obvious “woop! woop!” from the siren. What do you do?
